If I work on a campus, can I contact Campusware directly?

No. The only reason you should contact Campusware directly is to schedule additional training for your campus (which must be paid for from your campus’ budget). For any and all questions, please review the FAQ’s at http://www.gradespeed.net/dallas/ first, then contact your Coordinator if you still do not see an answer to your question.

Can a campus request additional training?

If a campus would like additional training beyond the GradeSpeed Administrator training, they will have to work with the vendor directly.

When generating the requisition:

  • Use vendor SHI-Gov
  • The hourly rate is $106 per hour with a 3 hour minimum
  • Since SHI-Gov is on state contract, there is no need for Board approval
  • Contact Jennifer Carr at 214-876-2466 or Campusware at 1-800-722-1619 with the PO number to schedule the training date and time
  • The location of the training is the campus’ responsibility.  It is helpful to have one computer per attendee

What are the implementation dates for phase III – V?

  1. The Phase III start date will be the start of the 5th six weeks (March 3rd).
  2. The Phase IV start date will be the start of the 6th six weeks (April 17th).
  3. The Phase V start date will be the start of the 6th six weeks (April 17th).

Is the use of GradeSpeed.NET mandatory?

It will be mandatory for the 2008-09 school year.

Can we give parents and/or students access to the student’s gradebook?

GradeSpeed has a parental access module, but DISD is not currently offering this feature at this time.

I am a teacher. How do I log-in?

Enter your user name and hit "Sign In." Your e-mail address is your user name. The first time you log in you should not enter a password.  It will prompt you to enter a new password and confirm it.

I am a teacher. I forgot my password.

Contact your GradeSpeed Campus Administrator to clear your password.

When I try to login I get a pop-up blocker.

This is not a GradeSpeed issue. Pop-up blocker issues must be resolved on your computer.

If you have installed ANY internet toolbars they may have a pop-up blocker as well.  Be sure to go into any and all tool bars to disable the blocker.

Click here for a detailed walkthrough on turning off pop-up blockers in various software programs.

Can we create teacher groups (such as English Teachers)?

No. GradeSpeed does not have this capability.

The multiplier in Assignments doesn’t work.

This feature has been turned off by administration.

A teacher wants to group her courses by period rather than by course ID. I set Group by Period for
a teacher in Teacher Properties via Database Manager, but it is not taking affect.

"Group By Period" only takes affect if it is checked before a teacher has signed in for the cycle. Once a teacher has signed in and it is checked, it will not do anything until the next cycle.

When students are withdrawn or dropped, can grades still be entered for them?

Yes. They just stay in the gradebook. They do not get exported to Stusys.

If a student transfers to another section can the assignment with grades be moved to the new section?

Yes. Refer to the Transfer Students topic in the GradeSpeed Teacher's Manual.

Can an assignment be copied to another section after it has been created?

No, it needs to be added when you are creating it.

Can the gradebook be printed?

No. However, you can print a Grade List instead.
